Women’s Circle
At Uni I set up a women’s circle where we would sit, weave and talk about issues. It’s a safe space where the process of weaving and talking is therapeutic. This recreates the historical community spaces where women would work and talk together and helps peoples well-being by being connected to others in a supportive environment. It also helps preserve this dying craft which has been important in our cultural heritage.
I want to set up this space again to reach a wider audience and benefit more people. I am currently in the process of applying for funding to facilitate this space. If you want to be involved in any way, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

I often call this a women’s group, because I believe it is important for women to have this opportunity together. Historically we have had this space of working and talking which has now been lost. However, I don’t want to be exclusive and will offer times for everyone because this opportunity should be open for all.
Community Cob building
I rebuilt this sculpture which was my degree show piece at a local community garden where I held a workshop to involve other people in the building process. I personally found the building to be very therapeutic; being physically connecting to the earth with your hands and feet, meditatively stomping and building with the mix, being liberated through a childlike state of play and getting dirty, and connecting to your wild core through this primitive process.
I want people to also experience this and believe many people can benefit from this therapeutic process. This is especially true in our society where so many people don’t engage with nature and where many people feel very isolated due to the lack of communities.

Therefore, I am planning to build another sculpture and create larger projects, to involve more people and hold more workshops so this process can reach out to a wide audience. I would also like these places to benefit the community once finished.
If you are interested in being involved, to hold a workshop or commission a sculpture, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
